[multipage=Author's Note]
Black Ops has been out for nearly 2 months now, and when I look around the Zombies Discussion Sub-Forum, I see plenty of guides explaining what to do on the map "Kino Der Toten", and none giving a
clear and
detailed strategy for what to do on the map "Five".
Having written 3 popular zombies guides myself, which have all together earned me over 60 Thanks and 20 Nominations, I have decided to give this map a shot and see what I can do. I have came up with a strategy that has worked for my friends and I and perfected it over my Christmas Break.
I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed finding it, and please remember, if you don't like it, I have put a lot of time into it, so at least don't flame me or post ignorant comments. Enjoy.
[multipage=Starting Off]
You will need 4 players who have an idea of what they are doing and preferably have mics. This strategy takes a lot of patience so pick people you enjoy playing with. Keep in mind that having 4 players is
NECESSARY for success.
[multipage=Rounds 1-4]
When you spawn off, stick to your pistols as usual. Everyone knows not to buy the weapons in the first room because they are failures.
Round 1- 6 Bullets then Knife
Round 2- 12 Bullets then Knife
Round 3- 18 Bullets then Knife
Round 4- Spray Bullets and Knife until they finally break your barrier, then cook a frag for 3.5-4 seconds and release.
Once everyone has about 3000 points or so, have the person with the third most points buy the door for 750, have the person who has the second most clear the debris in front of the elevator for 1000, and the person with the most clear the debris for 1250 once you are out of the elevator. Once downstairs everyone should buy the MP5K, and after that is where it gets complicated.
[multipage=Round 5-9]
Two people should get in the freight elevator that goes to the basement, and the other two should stay on the floor with the MP5K. Stick with your partner, help him out if you are upstairs. If you are in the elevator, one person guard the window and the other guard the front. Take turns watching the window and the front so you get about the same amount of points. Once everyone has about 9000 points, make a crawler, meet up, and go to the basement. Turn on the power, find the Mystery Box, and use it until you have a good weapon but make sure you keep at least 5000 points, or if you're a coward, 7500 points. If you don't get a good weapon by then, just
move on.
Go back upstairs and turn the Defcon Switches on. Once you hit all 4 switches, go through any teleporter into the Pack-A-Punch Room and Pack-A-Punch Room and upgrade what you have. After this point, there are two different routes you can take.

Stay in the Pack-A-Punch Room. Have two people guard the windows in the room and the other two guard the Main Entrance. You will last for a while, and if you get trapped run through the teleporter in the room and get away from the trouble. This is not my favorite route but it works for a while.

Clear all the debris on the floor to connect to area and go to the freight elevator. One person, preferably with the Upgraded Winter's Howl, should be running laps and herding the zombies on the floor while the other three are in the elevator. One should be watching the back window of the elevator. The other two should be looking forward, and one should be close enough to buy the elevator at any given moment. The person with the Winter's Fury should run around the floor, then freeze all the zombies right in front of the elevator for the other two to shoot them. This is my recommended route, but if the person herding the zombies gets downed;
1)He's F*cked.
2)Your trapped.
3)You will most likely lose.
Therefor, the player with the Winter's Fury should be the best player in the party.
Amidst all this pandemonium make sure you get Juggernog and the other drinks. They are just as important as upgrading guns.

Next to the Double Tap Root Beer, run up and down the first set of stairs, in a circle. If you run fast enough, he'll never catch you. I can vouch for this myself because it's my favorite way to kill him

Everyone put claymores in front of the elevator for a total of 8 claymores. As soon as he gets close use it and go downstairs. Spray. Once he gets close, go up. Then down. Then up. And so forth. Until he's dead.
[multipage=FAQ's]
Q-Who's the Scientist?
A-An old faggot who comes every 5-6 after the power is on and steals your gun.
Q-What is Pack-A-Punch?
A- It is a machine that costs 5000 points and makes your gun stronger. The room with the Pack-A-Punch machine can only be accessed with the teleporter once all the Def-Con switches have been flipped.
Q-How do I change the Def-Con?
A-First, turn on the power. Then go into the War Room. Hit your reload button on both switches on the MP5K Level to turn them Red, then the 2 on the Level with the Freight elevator. Once all the switches have been flipped, an image of a Pack-A-Punch machine should hover in every teleporter.
Q-What is a crawler and why should I leave one alive when teleporting, opening doors, buying stuff, and doing anything else when moving away from my elevator/room?
A-Crawlers are the little guys that have their legs blown of0f them and are just a torso crawling around. They are easy to manage and are preferred over a full blown zombie when one needs to buy something. As long as one zombie is alive, the next round won't start, so making a crawler or two is advised so you can leave the elevator/room, get your stuff, come back, kill the crawlers, and start the next round at your own pace.
Q-How do I make a crawler?
A-Hold a frag for 3-4 seconds then release it right by the zombie. Most of the time, it will become a crawler. In the later rounds, try shooting them in the legs with a Ray Gun or throwing a Monkey Bomb if you have them.
Q-What are Monkey Bombs, the Ray Gun, and the Winter's Howl and why do I need them?
A-Monkey Bombs are special grenades that draw zombies towards them. When a teammate is down, chuck a monkey and revive him while the zombies crowd in a circle around the monkey until it explodes. The Ray Gun is a futuristic pistol that shoots, oddly enough, rays. It is very deadly and good for making crawlers. The Winter's Howl is another futuristic pistol that freezes zombies. ALL OF THESE SPECIAL WEAPONS ONLY COME FROM THE MYSTERY BOX.
Q-Why do I need the Mystery Box?
A-It has all the good guns. Plain and simple.
Feel free to message me with any other questions. I will add other frequently asked questions to the thread if enough people ask.
