I tried this as well before on PS3 and was never able to jump as far as they show in the video.

He's preforming a "strafe jump". They can be difficult to master, it just takes practice. Here's a video that breaks it down and show you how to do it. :

Well I know this was posted for sure but everyone just ignored it. So, i guess its just a refresher.
