Has this glitch been confirmed working?

Ok so last night I was playing with randoms, I upgraded to sally and mustang (too me that's the second best weapons to the ray gun.) And then I got the ballistic knives.

Long story short, I shot them with the knife and some times i killed them with handguns, sometimes my team mate killed them, sometimes they bled out. But they dropped the knives.

Here was my problem though, The floor was covered in knives! but I couldn't pick anymore then the maximum i had. and sometimes when i shot one and went to try picking up one of the ones laying on the ground it wouldn't let me..

So if anything, this is just a fun thing to do if you like seeing glowing knives everywhere, unless I did it wrong. or it doesn't work as well in five?

I'm quite sure the only benefit to this, is if you use them all, there are still quite tons you can pick up. You don't have to go hunting around for the one you just shot.
