So for example if the box was in the mp40 room, and you were to die. Next game it will be in the mp40 room also. Also, if you were to get a teddy bear and the box transported to the mp5k room, the next game you play the teddy bear will transport the box to the mp5k room. This is very useful if you want to play a bunch of games with a friend or something. This way a strategy can be made.

Does it have to be split screen? or does it work 2 player online private match too?

I believe its only splitscreen because in 2 player private match I think after each game you go back to the lobby causing the system to randomize the game again. As long as you don't quit to lobby or see that weird video at the end of a game you should be fine.
