My real life friend go console banned from me selling him an account. I convinced him that it wasn't the account. Good thing his second ps3 just broke so he bought a new one like a week ago and still had warranty.

Ha make it overheat, I'm pretty sure that's how my first one got a YLOD.

But seriously, you don't want to get the YLOD. If you really want to do the warranty exchange, just call Sony up and say it doesn't read discs half the time you try to load them in.
