If your banned and you see a post somewhere saying you should just format your hard drive on your ps3, dont do it. all it does it take 3-7 hours and deletes everything. IT DOES NOT UNBAN YOU! I can confirm this because i saw it and tried. it was a waste of 4 hours and 30 mins of my life. Really its just a waste of time. so im just trying to warn you that your just wasting your time

No everyone is trying now because of the rumor that Sony is going to start banning since Activision said it would report modding of the system to manufacturers after the Black ops console bans.

Seen like 9 posts saying. i JUST got banned. i saw a post that said to format ps3 and it would go away. gna go try this. so i think its a differenent reason. but its whatever i guess
