i got a theory on unbanning. I can´t test it myself because i´m not banned.

So here´s the tutorial:

You need:
1.) A BO Banned PS3
2.) Some kind of PC WITH internet connection.
3.) You must login or register to view this content. You must login or register to view this content.
4.) You must login or register to view this content.

Let´s start:

Step 1: Download and Start Virtual Router Manager. Type in some kind of Network ID like bhzsjffs, and some easy password like 11223344 (must be 8 Characters).

Step 2: Go to your PS3´s Internet settings, and connect to your Virtual Network. Do the DNS or Proxy bypass (ONLY for 3.55).

Step 3:Save the connections and try to connect to the internet. If it works you´re fine if not you did something wrong. Try it again, it actually is pretty easy.

Step 4: Download and install SMAC. Run it, and you´ll see a few Network Cards.

Step 5: Change every MAC you see on the screen through clicking on the Network card and entering a valid MAC in the few boxes below.

Step 6: Try to connect to Black Ops Multiplayer. If it works i´m a genius if not, well, then you´ll have to wait a bit longer.

So this has pretty much been it. All credits go to me (probably useless^^). If it does not work, try to untick the "Show only active Network Adapters" and spoof some more MAC´s. Try to combine this tutorial with other unban tut´s. I´m pretty sure it does not work but please someone should try it and then reply to me. I really appreciate it. This does not work.

Treyarch have not banned you through your MAC address. Treyarch do not have a signed agreement to say that there allowed to ban you through Sony's MAC address.

PSN is ran through your PSID, which is what Treyarch have banned you through.
Your playstation has its own PSID, which is how Sony, track you also it how game developers are able to ban you.

There is a PSID Changer out there, that only work on 3.41 ps3. Currently does not work on 3.55 that I know of.

but isnt there a downgrade method from 3.55? So you can go to 3.41 and use the PSID changer?

That actually could be possible! I need someone to test this.

Im willing to try this but how would i find out someones psid?

For example i have a friend that doesn't play black ops and would switch or let me use his psid how would i find his out?

You can't just simply "borrow" someone's PSID, it is built into the console. Meaning, you would have to have that person's PS3 and then run the program from there.

Dunno if this could be usefull.. If someone has 2 ps3's he can try something.. (3.41 with dongle and 3.55 with cfw)

On both ps3's go to dev_usb/psid.txt
Replace the 3.41 over the 3.55 and test it?
(dunno whats inside that .txt docu)

But if someone has another PS3 why would they bother trying to unban the other one when they can just play online on the second ps3? & in the .txt file theres probably a bunch of stuff, but there should be a 32 character code, and thats the consoles PSID.

Mmm, if you have all your saved data + game data on your 3.55, and u have buyed a dongle for the 3.41, I think you will understand that some people want to stay on their 3.55.

And it is a cool test to find out if the PSID is really banned, and change-able.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you just copy saved data and game data to a USB flash drive/hard drive and then copy it back to your PS3 after it has been downgraded to 3.41? I don't have my PS3 available at the moment, or I would test it. But I think you just plug in the usb drive and hover over the save data or game data you want to copy and press triangle and then copy to storage media.
