DMCA 2000 No Console bans from games
The Digital Multimedia Act of 200 states that you cannot ban system from a game. You can only ban the account that has been hacked or exploited. Stopping someone from playing a game that they payed for and deserve to play is not legal..
"Video games accessible on personal computers and protected by technological protection measures that control access to lawfully obtained works, when circumvention is accomplished solely for the purpose of good faith testing for, investigating, or correcting security flaws or vulnerabilities, if:
The information derived from the security testing is used primarily to promote the security of the owner or operator of a computer, computer system, or computer network; and
The information derived from the security testing is used or maintained in a manner that does not facilitate copyright infringement or a violation of applicable law."

This is being taken into new hands and the issue will be addressed quickly. I will agree that hacking should not be tolerated. But you cannot stop us from playing this game if it has been bought.
If they had of concentrated on fully finishing the game instead of allowing Activision to rush them, they would have been able to make the game unable to be hacked!

No i didn't do any hack wat so ever i was just playing with my friends and all the sudden i got sign out of psn and when i sign back in i got banned off black ops

i tried calling them but they don't answer there phone i tried all last week but im going to email them do u know where i can find there email at

I SERIOUSLY doubt you didn't do anything. They just randomly permabanned you? You can tell US the truth, come on now. You mean to tell me that you don't at the least have a hacked account on your PS3 by chance? Like a friend of yours' account is on your PS3 and maybe HE hacked which is why you got banned???
Also you are not the first nor the last person to think just because you found the DCMA law on Wikipedia that all of a sudden you can just go around suing people from keeping off their servers.
Why do people make these lame ass "imma sue you" threads to begin with? I bet the vast majority have illegally downloaded music/porn on their computers. But they always want to try and say what's illegal and wrong. GTFO

Ok.. i read thought the read the same thing and i said the same as you but, i want taking 2 my friend and she saying i was not completey console banned. Yes, u can not play multiplayer.. But u can still play lan party, spilt screen, story, and etc.. so until u click the game and it does not let u on the main screen and says ur console banned... u cant do $hit.. trust me man this is a big business the ain't going slip up.. just wait til some 1 cracks the server "IF" some1 does.. or the unbanned us 4 greed when the maps come out.. which i really see that happening but, if nothing of that work dude just trade it in 4 dead space 2, killzone 3. or LBP 2 lol "just saying" cause that what im about 2 do. I experince 15th prestige 4 12hours with every gold gun so i think im done with it..

First of all, it sounds like you don't even know proper grammar, so you will not win first and foremost because of that. Secondly, even if you DID win, like I have said many times, how much money will you have afterwards? You'll go bankrupt before the trial even starts, do you think you sue someone for free? Hell no, do you know the kind's of lawyers they have there? Thirdly, they have not violated anything. Someone said before, you own your DISC not the game. Everything on your disc works perfectly fine. You are banned from the SERVERS not the game. I am seriously tired of these kid's thinking they can defeat a powerhouse like Treyarch. They have their backs covered, you guys need to give it a ****ing break. I have never seen so many damn people worked up over a game. There is nothing you can do, even if you honestly did NOTHING, they haven't violated anything. Just like driving, playing online is a PRIVILEGE, not a RIGHT.

Sueing is universal , I can sue you right now if i wanted to . However 4 things you want to know . 1. Will it even stand in court? Keep in mind theres only ohh so many courts in the U.S and most are busy with everything from rapist to serial killers . 2. 3arc has lawyers , good ones , they did make a good amount of cash . Therefore they can afford the best of the best . 3. If your sueing them for money , dont even waste your time . 4. Id you modded your console (CFW) you purposely manipulated your console for unregistered software . You agree in the TOS (Terms of service) to abide by sonys conditions for online access .
