Josh Olin is the community manager for Call of Duty Black Ops. He is a self proclaimed Call of Duty gamer first and foremost and community manager second. With the game's giant successes there has been criticisms, especially for the PlayStation 3 and PC versions of the game. The Community Manager recently sat down with Now Gamer to give his opinions on Call of Duty Black Ops now that the game has been released and active in the community for over a quarter of a year.

When asked what the biggest problem facing the games industry today, Olin had this to say:

"Personally, as a community manager who lives in the media or social media world every day, I think the social culture of video games is moving in a more negative direction as technology and social media continues to grow. Rather than growing with it, the trend seems to be devolving. More and more gamers seem to forget what this industry is all about."

"It’s a creative industry – the most creative form of entertainment in existence. Too many developers who try new things are getting burned by “pundits” and angry entitled fans who look to be contrarian, sometimes simply for the sake of being contrarian. The only thing this attitude aims to achieve is stunt that creativity and innovation even further, which is something that no rational gamer looking to be entertained would want to do."

I believe the biggest problem with the industry is companys and developers only about the money and selling out to one platform just for money. Half coding a much more technologically advanced system just because Microsoft paid you for map packs early...pathetic.

I think the problem is actually creativity itself. Look how simple CoD4 was. I think if they made an upgraded CoD4, it would be the most succesful.

For someone who doesn't like BS in a game, it would be perfect for me.
But for the average gamer, maybe not so much just because people get bored.

Cake is a lie
The funniest part of it all is that the majority of the people that "hate" a certain video game are the ones buying them the most. People thought Black Ops would be their savior before it was released and made Black Ops historically successful, and now those same bitter folks will think the next COD game will be their savior so they will buy that game too.

After a while the negativity starts to sound like that girl always talking about how guys are dogs yet she is never single and continues to date these dogs. After a while you have to tune them out and realize some people like to complain, rinse and repeat.

Haha JD_2020 is such a nob. Ironic how he's taking shite about being creative yet treyarch haven't made a creative CoD yet, W@W was basically a copy of CoD4 and Black Ops is basically a Copy of MW2.
