(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I want to start being a sniper in Black Ops. I'm not really good at it, but I could do better in training. Could you guys perhaps give me some tips to start off with. Like items a sniper should be holding.. perks.. etc. and maybe some techniques..

Here's what I'd do:
1.) Try using a regular scope instead of variable, I find that to be easier.
2.) Perks- I use ghost pro but you may wanna try hardline or flack-jacket if your going to rush. Use steady aim for a while until you get used to quickscoping the switch to sleight of hand or just start with sleight of hand. And I use hacker pro for the third perk.
3.) Equipment- Claymore/motion sensor. Stun Grenades. Tomahawk.
4.) Secondary I'd use duel pythons. Remember that pistols can save your life. Don't feel ashamed if you need to use it to win a gun fight, you're already put at a disadvantage by using a sniper.
5.) Start of in TDM or Domination for gameplay. Longer games will help you get used to the sniper sway.
6.) Don't worry about holding your breath, and if you choose to quickscope, when you first start, shot after your sway is gone so you have a better chance.

Note: It's very important you get the PRO version of steady aim. It allows you to aim faster after sprinting. With how unreliable the snipers are you need every help you can get.

I'll be honest with you. Unless you are very special or have a crew to play with....

SNIPING IN BLACK OPS IS DEAD/POINTLESS.....if you play Ground War, TDM, Dom.

If you're sniping because you like it, then I say go for it. Make sure to try and pick up a weapon off the ground because the 2ndary weapons are terrible.

If you're sniping to get kills, or win games, then DON'T EVEN TRY IT.

Assault Rifles, especially the G11 can outsnipe most snipers.

Most maps only have 2-3 areas where sniping would be beneficial...Problem is everybody knows those spots. So if you get 2-3 kills. The guy will come revenge kill you shortly.

Like I said I play TDM, Domination or just Ground War and if you plan to snipe in those modes you will get raped. People seem to snipe the most on Array, and that's where I do the most damage. All I do is pull out the G11 and look up at the top of the tower by A Flag, or in the windows near B Flag and pick people off.

Another example is those rooms by A Flag or C Flag on Havana. You'll get 2-3 kills max, before someone runs into your spawn and kills you.

Again I am speaking on Ground War, TDM and Dom specifically. If you play those modes and try to snipe, you will won't get a KS higher than 5. Now if you don't care about that, then okay.

But Treyarc for some reason hates snipers, so if you just won't let sniping die, try it. Otherwise go play COD4 or MW2.

In this game Assault Rifles/SMG/LMG and maybe Shotguns > Sniper Rifles.

I use Sniper in Jungle and in Array the worst score I got on Jungle was 8 - 4 and Array 11 - 9. My best Jungle 42 - 2 and Array 36 - 5. I enjoy sniping, and I do not quickscope (because I can't, its quite hard in here so I just hold breath 1 sec and shot).
My class is:
Classified Sniper.
Dual Python.

Claymore.
Frag.
Flashbang.

Ghost Pro.
Scout Pro. Sleight of Hand is also a good option.
Ninja Pro. Marathon is a good choice if you need to change spot (If you have it Pro you can change spot quickly and confuse the enemy)
