I too have done it after patch. Someone with a capture card and some time should make a video of it. You need to be more on the lander then before, and it is a little bit more difficult.

I know, my input won't really add any reason for you to believe it but I was able to it on sunday (after the patch). Just go try it. Follow the old instructions and line it up like the picture; but, move farther onto the lander. It WILL take longer but should eventually work.
