This is definitely the best way.
i figured it out awhile back. you can throw them everywhere.

If I put a guy into last stand with my Sniper and finish him off with my pistol the killfeed says I killed him with the Sniper.
Before the patch it would show the Pistol

To get Tactical Mask Pro, You need 20 kills with Nova, Concussion, and Stun grenades. You don't have to kill them with your special grenades, you just have to kill them while they are affected by those types of grenades
