(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello all, I decided to post my own little self help guide about leveling up on BlackOps, this is a little guide based on my own opinions and you might find these do not work for you. however for those it does help then i'm glad i helped.

Q: Whats the best way to gain exp in BlackOps?

A: I find the best way i get exp is through Ground War, especially if you can get into a domination match, reason i say this is because ground wars hold more players than regular games so more people to kill, capturing flags give you a healthy 150xp per capture and defending and attacking flags also boosts your EXP by and extra 30 points per kill.

I'd say GW is better than the other gametypes because of the fact theres more people to kill, if your an average type player who isn't crap and isn't overly good either, GW is easy to rack up exp. I prefer it so Search and destroy because although you get 500xp a kill in SnD its unlikely you'll kill every person every round and you may not even get a kill at all.

Another good game type is Demolition, when me and my friend play on the same team we sort of rule how the games going to be, for instance we will purposely lose a match to make the game go to round 3 so it lasts longer for more kills, demolition is good because you have a good time limit to destroy your objectives and if you do it with a couple of seconds left makes the game last a little longer.

Q: Whats the best class to use?

A: simply, there isn't a "best class" as such as the class is only as good as you are at using it, Most new players tend to go with the "n00b" guns such as the FAMAS and AK74-u as these guns hardly have recoil and have crazy damage for such low level guns. most people frown on others using these kinds of guns as they are classed as "overpowered" if you want to use them expect some abuse.

Choosing your perks and attachments correctly can really boost your EXP quicker, taking time to do the challenges for PRO is easy to do if you know how. A lot of the perks co-inside with another perks challenge for instance:

Hacker allows you to detect enemy equipment, one of the challenges for Hardened is to destroy an enemy equipment through a wall, so use hacker to locate one and bang easy challenge complete!

Another one can be scavenger and hardened using an LMG to shoot enemy aircraft and using scavenger to re-suply to shoot more aircraft means you can complete that challenge in a couple of games.

the classes are really usefull if you can harness what you've got to work together well.

For example Sleight of hand works wonders with dual magazines (and also using dual mags helps towards the sleight of hand challenges)

heres a few set-ups i use they may not be your style but for me have worked well:

Run And Gun

Primary: AK-47 [Dual mags]
Secondary: Python (Dual Wield)

Lethal: Semtex
Tactical: Concussion
Equipment: Claymore

Perk 1: Scavenger pro
Perk 2: Sleight of hand pro
Perk 3: marathon pro

Sumary:

You'll be able to run and gun without any problems with this class, the dual mags means you can reload stupidly fast every other reload with the ability to aim quicker, scavenger ensures you don't run out of ammo and that you've got the extended mags addition so you have more bullet capacity than your opponent. Marathon allow you to run around like crazy, semtex i prefer to frag as it sticks, i'm the kind of unlucky sod that throws a frag and it'll hit some ridiculously small scenery and bounce back and kill me, with the semtex if that happens you've got a few secs to run away aha.

Claymores are alway good for easy kills, plonking them in coridoors and places you know people will always run past will mean you rack up kills easy, concussion grenades i prefer as they slow the movement of opponents, flash bangs just blind them meaning they can spray and prey and get lucky hits on you, concussion prevents this by slower movement.

Seen but not heard

Primary: Uzi/MAC11 [grip/silencer]
Secondary: RPG-7/Strella 3

Lethal: Semtex
Tactical: Concussion
Equipment: Claymore

Perk1: Ghost pro
Perk 2: Warlord pro
Perk 3: Ninja pro

Sumary:

Remain hidden and rape your victims without them ever knowing you was there, i use a sub machine gun for this as they work best up close as opposed to an assult rifle. the MAC11 has a good iron sight and low recoil whereas the Uzi has a nice iron sight and larger mags, Ghost pro will stop any aircraft from shooting you down which is very handy, it also means you can play dead in random locations by tapping triangle whilst in prone so that people running past you don't notice you as they think your a dead body, as when targeted theres no name or red marker. its sneaky tactics but can get you out of tight situations and kill folk who least expect it.

ninja pro allows you to move silently and hear your opponents louder, this is handy for listening out for footsteps or people planting claymores or throwing grenades, the silent footsteps isn't exactly overly useful but with surround sound really does help, if you don't have surround sound then use hacker or marathon if ninja isn't helping you that much.

The silencer make you not appear on radar when firing and the use of the RPG-7's is to take out large groups in dominaltion or to take out aircraft. i'd be tempted to say use the strela3 instead as your going to be using your primary for killing.

-----------------------

Q: what else do you suggest to get more exp?

A: A big one for me when ranking up is to have a class that is soley used for taking down enemy aircraft, alot of your opponents will have spyplanes, care packages and helicopters as their killstreaks, taking these down earns you big exp, i recomend using scavenger to resuply your strella 3 missiles so you can take down any aircraft thats unfortunate enough to be deployed as your running around killing folk.

you gain the following for killing aircraft:
Spyplane: 150xp
Care package chopper: 400xp
helicopter: 500xp

-------------

Another useful tip is to pick contracts that involve a few kills or ones that offer exp for getting killstreaks that are not too hard to get.

for example, Treyarch normally posts up contracts that include getting 2 kills in one life with a pistol which is real easy for a few hundred EXP, since these contracts only cost 25-50c there worth getting.

--------------

Variety is the spice of life.... once you've completed a good chunk of challenges with one gun, swap it for a different one as you get small amounts of exp fast through getting 10 and 25 kills with each gun, stick with that gun til you've reached 75 kills or so and swap it for another of the same type. this will give you boosts in shorter time and gets you used to all the guns to find one that you like best.

Contradictory......once you've found a gun that suits you best, stick with it when you getting to the higher levels like 30+ using the same gun all the time is a good thing for when you hit the 5000xp challenges which really help you more than your 100xp-250xp boosts from the smaller kills.

---------------

If you want to rank up fast during the ealry levels, i recomend using killstreaks 3,5,6 don't bother with RC-XD's as they aren't always garenteed a kill so you could end up getting 100xp without a kill compared to 100 xp from a spy plane which you can go hunting for kills. use napalm strikes as i find them to be really effective if you put them along their spawn so they have to run through it to get to your team, this means they are likely to die by not seeing some of the flames. position one right and you could get a large killcount ontop of the exp recieved from using it. for 6 i tend to go for sentry guns purely on the basis that if you shove one in an alley way on a domination it stops no end of folks in their tracks, the mortar killstreak should be used only if you know where key points are (normally i bomb my own flags as thats where people are likely to be trying to take your domination flag. rather than bombing their flags that probably 1 person is guarding)

--------------

Be sneaky.....Remember where your enemy spawns, position yourself so that your close enough to kill them when they spawn but far enough away so their spawn isn't re-located! especially in games like demolition where you can spawn kill for good exp.

Know your Maps...... knowing the layout of the maps is key to being good or crap at CoD, knowing where people are more likely to go is vital in hunting them out, for instance, on "cracked" at the start if you rush towards the middle but kept left and throw a grenade over the middle hill where B would be in domination, chances are your going to get a quick kill as everyone will be doing that only you'll avoid their grenades just by being at the side, so you'll perhaps only take damage whereas you'll kill one of them.

Put out that campfire!......good tip NEVER camp in a spot too long, if you are planning on setting up camp at a flag then make sure to alternate between spots as as soon as you've killed someone, they will watch the killcam and go for a revenge kill. Its garenteed especially if you sit in the same spot. Revengers will do everything they can to kill you so if you want to guard a flag move between points like corners of a building as i can garentee the first person to walk through that door will alread be firing on the corner you were hiding in the first time you killed him! Revenge seekers are the biggest arseholes on the game so be one step ahead of them!

EDIT: another useful tip is to stay away from the rest of your team mates and try to flank your enemies from the rear, your opponents (unless really smart) will be charging your team mates for revenge kills and trying to take objectives via the most common routes, my tip is to stick to the borders of the map when traveling unless theres cover around you that you can sneakily move from place to place, if you somehow get spotted and a group of people decide they want your head, move backwarks whilst dropping a claymore as you go, 8/10 times the enemy will try and follow the exact route you took and will blow up on your claymore, getting you out of the situation and also getting you a kill.

Don't touch my Sensitive parts!....... alot of people ask me why i use sensitivity 9 and 10 as its too fast, i use such a high sensitivity as its really easy to quickly out aim your opponent who uses a lower sensitivity giving you that few miliseconds advantage, of course you have to choose a sensitivity that isn't going to throw your aim all over the place because its too fast, for players who have played a good while, i find the most common setting tends to be 4 or 5 however if you can get used to the settings of 6 or higher they can actually give you a slight advantage, especially in close quarter situations where your opponent is going to be running around trying to shoot you by jumping, diving etc.

Things to be wary of......... there are three main things to be wary of when your in matches that can result in you dying pretty quick, the most common death is caused by your own team mates being idiots and getting in the way, there seems to be a habbit that your team mate will get himself noticed while your hiding somewhere, run to where you are and stand infront of you blocking your view and while he's being shot at, your taking damage or being killed before your team mate dies. half of the "lucky kills" are when team mates are being shot at and you die but not them all because they ran into your path. Go it alone unless your playing with friend who know how you play and you are good teaming with.

The second most common groan is getting stuck on scenery, player often try to run into buildings or round corners and get stuck on a random chair or bit of rock that clearly wouldn't stop you even if it was made of steel. be careful of scenery and if possible try to run in the middle of a doorway instead of to the side as sometimes you'll get stuff on the corner of the doorway.

The last and final thing to watch out for is the n00b tube and "lucky" grenade, people will throw random grenades that will no doubt luckily seem to land right where you are, i've seen one guy literally just spin with sensitivity 10 for 3 full turns and throw his grenade while still spinning and get a double kill purely by luck. half of the new players and some oldies will lob random grenades anywhere "just because" in hope of a kill. if you get killed by a n00b tuber chances are you'll be killed by him again as all they will do is go around with the tube out getting two kills before dying. Play the game "Hunt the n00b" and ensure the tuber gets raped so they use a different class.
