Reason for this is simply lag.
or if you want a more fancy explanation:
The host (person who supports everyone's connection) receives everyone's positions and then uploads them to each client.
ping is the delay it takes for users to actually receive anything from the host to the client. higher the ping (latency) the more lag (can also be caused by low upload rate).
There is also something called 'latency spike' this basically is like a small unnoticeable lag which last less than a fraction of a second. This is what happened in your video. Data received from the host by you thought that you were standing at position for example x98222 y23422 and you hit the tomahawk while standing in that position, add the time taken and position of the tomahawk with the position of the other user being hit example enemy position: x99333 y25622
Data feed:
Tomahawk
starting position: x98222 y23422
ending position: x99333 y25622
you: x98222 y23422
enemy: x99333 y25622
system knows that if tomahawk hits a person = person dies.
fact is that he was ahead of his position but the system didn't know that's because of the slight delay (latency spike).
enemy was actually at: x97333 y25612
Either way the player is officially dead even if he teleported to the sky within that spike
My theory :O
