you can get it in call of the dead as a pickup (like a deathmachine) by completing the original characters easter egg or killing george (once youve completed the easter egg)

I use whatever I have, but the most effective are shotguns and wonder weapons. There's a trick where you run around the dog and it can't hit you, very useful if you need to reload or regain health.
