Anybody know what this is doing for Black Ops any edits or patching anything?..
maybe its for the map packs?
i will update this thread if i get anymore info!
Edit 1: Just got on to Black Ops and theres a picture in the bottom left corner like this - You must login or register to view this content. and the "Store" Section on the Main Menu is back again.. but when i click it it says "There are no items in the store at this time" so the Store must be back up tomorrow! Also the ESCALATION choice is on the "FIND MATCH" Menu.
Edit 2: Just Found the Main changes in v1.09
-Added support for mods in preparation for the upcoming tools release.
-Addressed various MP & Zombie exploits.
-Improved memory utilization in MP.
-Improved DLC filter in server browser - you can now hide any servers running content you do not own.
-Corrected issue which sometimes required repurchase of emblems or clan tags on weapons.
-Address some cases in which player could not receive Zombie invites.
-Replaced RPG with Grim Reaper in Gun Game Wager Match.
-Fine-tuned napalm and bombing-run damage indoors.
-Prevented rare invulnerability issue.
-Demolition bombs can no longer explode and be defused at the same time.
-Spy plane now activates in One in the Chamber in all cases.
-The "Sprint Kills" challenge for Steady Aim perk now rewards the player with the correct number of kills.
-Addressed a rare issue where a hacked camera spike would not function properly if the hacker also had a camera spike that was destroyed.
-Recording a clip with the speed mode for 2 cameras set to .1 will no longer increase in speed when switching perspectives back and forth.
-Improvements to Zipline functionality when viewed in Theater mode.
-Settings from custom games are all cleared and no longer carry over from one custom match to another.
-Nova gas will now affect players that are standing over their tactical insertion.
-Hardcore players who kill another teammate in Second Chance now lose the proper amount of points.
-Calling in a Chopper Gunner immediately after getting shot down in a Gunship will no longer end the Chopper Gunner run prematurely.

I've been researching trying to find something on it but i haven't found anything YET! I Will keep researching and keep you guys updated on what i find!
I have also noticed that there is new game mode options in the Combat Training. Im not sure if they are from this update (1.09) but im pretty sure they wasn't in 1.08.. i might be mistaken they might have been i may have not noticed, but this is all ive got up to this point. The "New" Combat Training Game mode as Hardcore Team Deathmatch and Hardcore Free for All. Like i said im not sure if these are new to the Combat Training area but to me they are!

- There is a new gamemode in Barebones (not sure what it is yet till i check later)
- Domination Games now end at 1000 points.
- A Capture The Flag (CTF) Game will now end when 10 Flags have been captured.
- The Quickscoping has been updated.
- First strike isn't in the Game menu anymore.
- Double XP Starts on Friday 10PM (PST)
Credit to Aiiden_13 for this info! Also.. Thanks to LINUX♥, i have found out that the Playstation Store is up in some ares around the world. So this would explain how 3000+ people have been playing on the new ESCALATION Maps.
Edit 5: Around 30mins ago i went on Black Ops.. and found that the new Barebones Gamemode is "Competition" and the "ESCALATION" section from the game mode options hase been removed and "First Strike" section is back.
I've also been given info by thestiefmen that the Search and Destroy game changes sides every round.

Clan tags now have more restricted characters, for examples the $ is no longer usable. - Thanks glitchplz
There has also been some arguments about domination going up to 1000 points.. i didn't find that info, i got told it. I Don't play domination so i can't check/confirm it, But i will check it later when i go online just to check.
Also the ESCALATION Now Avalivble Picture on the main menu has now been replaced by a Playlist update picture.

does anyone know why treyarch messed up this patch because escalation has gone and first strike is back but call of the dead leaderboard is still on but not on the find match section and that theres no double xp now this weekend
i have heard this change maybe due to treyarch thinking that the store would be up tomorrow and release it thursday but due to sony postponing their maintenance tonight and the possibility the store would be back friday so there could be a chance although slim that escalation could be out next week

I don't have the escalation playlist? Is this a big problem? or when I download it from PSstore will I get it?

yes there's the competition playlist. (no rapid fire, grenade launcher of any kind rpg's etc, no second chance [missing a perk]
