If you dont have two controllers' you can still do splitscreen. To do it,
1. Press n' hold the PS button(middle button)
2. Go to controller settings
3.It'll tell you you are controller #1, click the 1 and switch it to #2. Then exit it out and press "x" on the controller to activate your "second controller".
4. Do step #3 again but instead of switching to controller #2, go to controller #1 and ur done!

It says "please reconnect controller(s): 1"

yeah, the 1st time you put it on 2nd user it will say reconnect 1st controller. Just press circle and then connect the 2nd controller. Once the 2nd is on, put it back on to 1st. Kinda hard for me to explain when Im AFK. If you are willing to die, add me, oWaffles-- im in need of one more person to boost.
