Why does Treyarch "ruin our fun"?
Well believe it or not some players hate modders. Also why would Treyarch just allow modifications to their game. I agree it does ake the game "better" in my eyes but think about it if you were in treyarch's shoes. Basically saying if your work on something for 2 years of your life and then people just go and make changes to what you have spent so much time on, would you just "let it happen?" I sure as hell know i wouldn't. You have to see it as Treyarch would. Its their job to keep their game clean and legit for all the players as much as we hate hate it, it has to happen. Like i said some epeople hate mods in the game and they like to play legit they claim it is more fun.
So i hope this clears alot of things up regarding Black Ops modding.
here, let me write a little response to this for you. "some players" hate modders/hackers because they find it unfair when someone who hasn't played legit and has EVERY gun/attachment/prestige/etc. comes in and turns on invincibility so nobody can shoot them. "some players" hate modders because they KNOW they have no skill and can only cheat in order to win. "some players" hate modders because they ruin the original fun of the game and they defeat the purpose of putting time into the game by ranking up, because you have people who cheat for leaderboard ranks and fame.well to clarify, if you have to cheat in order to get ahead in a video game, you need a new hobby. there's a damned good reason Treyarch fights to keep their game clean and cheating-free. i suggest you take a hint.
the majority of the SMART and RESPECTFUL modders, such as myself, play OFFLINE ONLY. out of respect for the gaming environment. i have an entire separate ps3 unit specifically for offline play and exploring the limits with mods.
i hope this little reply gets the idea through your thick skull. Legitimate Play > Cheating , in the online-play sense.
i'm a legitimate online gamer, currently have an account with several prestige ranks which were completely earned with hard work and fun games.
Cod4 = 10th
W@W = 10th
Mw2 = 10th
Black Ops = 6th
earning ranks the hard way keeps you from getting banned another day. there's a reason they make it difficult to attain a maximum online rank. so it consumes time and keeps you playing, therefore making the legitimate gamer play more time and enjoy it more.
i'm not going to make a cliche religious scare-tactic by saying "if you cheat online, you will go to hell for homosexuality" but what i am saying is, Treyarch/Infinity Ward/whatever the game dev is for the game you're ruining will eventually swing the hammer and start mas banning cheaters. hell, they will probably even start making an auto-detect script that checks your game's configuration files upon boot if they have to. i'm sure it's possible and i would fully support such a thing, even if it makes the game load slower. why? because a legit game is a game with a good replay value.
