This happened to me...But it just worked after a while? :\ Try deleting the recent patch and downloading it again.

Idk just a guess, check if your disk is dirty. Clean it if it is. Because when my game freezes sometimes its because its all dirty

Used to happen to me too, but it fixed itself and worked after a couple hours,

Try un-plugging the power cable and try it again after a few minutes

Ye my friend has the same problem. His problem is: When he puts Black Ops in his Slim PS3 it takes time for it to show up on the GAME list, and when he loads the game it glitches a lot (freezing, gets pixelated, skipping, sound messes up, etc.), then finally freezes the PS3 and he has to turn it off.

The solutions we tried and have not worked for us are:
-Tried loading game every day for the past month
-Cleaned game disc
-Used a different Black Ops game disc (5 different discs)
-Deleted patches
-Deleted saves
-Restored original settings
-Formatted PS3
-Tried other games, all works perfectly, only Black Ops doesn't work

So now we are very puzzled. Every other game works, and Black Ops doesn't work by trying every way we could think of. Isn't there a solution other then get a new PS3 (not worth it just for Black Ops)?

Hmm,Delete the old patch and download the new one, Your disk does it have a lot of scratches or finger prints(clean the disk)...
