This is for PS3 only
If you know the LAN glitch, then you probably know the splitscreen glitch - it's basically the same apart from being able to have 4 players on splitscreen. ( Yes you can still do this with just 2 )
More often than not, you will get 2 vs 2. Sometimes if your lucky you will get 1 vs 3, but unlike using 2 controllers - you don't really get the controllers on the same team. So this is much better than normal.
TUT;
Pretty simple....... but do exactly the same process every time.
Have a friend, or 2nd ps3, sit in a player match lobby (party) with the privacy open.
Join him/her and back out.
Go to splitscreen and turn on your other 3 controllers but don't add them in to the lobby. ( you will add the other controllers while attempting to join )
Back out from the splitscreen lobby, highlight splitscreen and press triangle.
Find your friend or 2nd ps3.
Hit join, then rapidly tap X on all controllers.
The game should load saying the map name but no game type.

Test how long it takes to join your host first, then when you attempt the glitch, press join and start tapping the Xs just before you appear in the host's party. Technically, you are joining the party and starting the match at the same time.
This splitscreen glitch is better for people with 2 ps3s (or very fast connection) who have trouble getting the LAN glitch to work.
There are not any requirements to make the xp stick.
The match will end if the glitch hasn't worked properly, or you get kicked when selecting a class. Try again.
Yes, you should have your online custom classes.

When you press pause to change weapon, sometimes it won't let you press X on "change weapon" so press start instead. ( the same goes for the start of the match )
If you cant un-pause, you must go in to options and press start to un-pause it.

EDIT: I have found that when using 4 controllers, you get a lot of server full messages. I don't know why this is, or how to fix it. It does not mean that it has been patched, it still works, as of tuesday 23rd of august 2011, after the update.

Yes this works with 2 controllers by default.. But Soldier_1337 found this way to get 4 controllers in the splitscreen lobby.. now that i think about it.. I do remember soldier posting that he knew how to get 4 controllers in the lobby a long time ago.. I think everyone was so caught up in getting this glitch to work, that no even tried to get 4 controllers in the lobby.. Good stuff soldier..

This is similar to my tutorial back when the lan/splitscreen glitch first came out.. But great tut anyways :]

when i tried this the game type showed in the loading screen, but my online classes showed up
it also kicked me right when i chose my class
anyway to fix?
and does the host have to stay in the pty for this to work?

For the splitscreen glitch to work correctly, it must say the map name only.
Try hitting the X buttons a second or two after hitting join, and the host only needs to stay in the party until you get in the match. Saying that, someone has suggested to me that if the host ends the party, that the xp doesn't stick. As far as I'm aware, that is un-true, but I will conduct further tests.

This glitch basically starts a splitscreen match at the same time as joining a friend's party, Gay.. I mean Treyacrch did such a poor job with the ps3 version that, by doing this glitch, you can trick the game in thinking that you're playing a real online game. So it's just like normal, but it's you verses your other controllers... so you can do anything you want, to a certain extent.
