It's a different person who is downed. Zombies wont go for a downed player, so if it was the wallbreacher who was downed then they wouldn't continue walking into the wall and instead target another player.

I think it's patched on ps3, instant death

dam fell out of map

This glitch still works as of 8/12/11 on Playstation 3 for online play. It is fairly easy to get into however, if you go too far into the wall then you will fall under the map and hit a death barrier. DON'T push on the left analog stick getting into the glitch. Just let the zombie push you in. I am still looking into how to best use this glitch, but currently this is the best glitch on Ascension.
