Try switching your console off and resetting your internet, then re connecting your console to your internet.
If anyone says it's because you're banned, it's a lie. You would have a message saying you're banned on the screen. You have a connection problem.

it will be your internet thats causing the problem
reset your router/try connecting directly into the modem as something may be interferring with your wireless
also go to options when on the multiplayer menu and press select to bring up your connection stats and post them here
