Tar-21 just rapes at close range. I'd use that with FMJ Stopping power sleight of hand and commando pro.

1 of the great things about mw2 is your not limited no matter the map, on rust its just as effective using a rifle in a 1v1 as it is an smg.

so i'd say use your favourite weapon or 1 you do well with often.

i'd use FAMAS Red dot sight (Fall camo to psychologically terrify them lol)

also on WaW i was undefeated 1v1 and played ALOT against good players. in mw2 ive never been challenged once, whilst in cod5 i'd often get multiple per day.
i think without the mp40 people decide its better to keep their mouth shut and avoid further embarassment.

why would anyone use cold blooded for 1v1 really retarded
