(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I've just switched my layout to tactical to give drop shotting a go. I've been doing ok thus far but nothing special, 15,9 is about average. My ratio normally is 2.25 so I'm a bit off the pace. Any advice, guns, perks, attachments? Or do I just suck...

Wait, drop shotting = Killing someone while falling before you hit the ground, right?

Never tried it.

Also, unrelated, but what's with all the green names all of a sudden?

dropshotting is when you prone whilst firing to give yourself an advantage in 1v1 shootouts.

Tactical layout is a must for dropshotting otherwise it will never work and becomes so slow and bad for your aim that its pointless, so never try to dropshot with default.

with tactical layout you can prone and aim with the right analog stick instead of having to press a button as well.

in cod5 i pretty much mastered, dropshotting, jumpshotting, jump dropshotting, basically every kind of dropshot.
i could run into a room take out 3 people, and even when being shot from behind i could prone and jump and end up with some lovely 360 kills it was awesome.
the reason was quite simply, jugganaut rules the dropshot. and with the incredible hipfire of the mp40 it was unbeatable.
without jugganaut its no where near as effective, and i'd say dropshotting is effective 1 in 15 kills.
the guns kill so fast its generally pointless but in close range situations when you have been hit 1st it can give you the edge.

you should only ever dropshot with full auto weapons, in order for it to be effective on this game you need to aim down sight whilst going prone and shooting.
in cod5 the hipfire was so good you'd never need to aim, i would aim down sight on maybe one 5th of kills so dropshotting was again even easier. and i was undefeated 1v1 throughout cod5 and played easily 100-150 1v1's.
its definately worth using though as even if it saves you 1 death in 15, that soon adds up.

The premium members got a color change, orange looked better didn't it? This blends in with the regular members more than orange.

Its all about timing, its very easy and very useful
Plus. When you're behind a barrier or a wall, you can sit up, have a look for enemies, then drop, then sit back up again and kill them, then drop, and repeat
Extremely useful

Well coming from someone who drop shots very regularly, it is the best thing you can do in a 1 on 1 or 2 on 1 or even 3 on 1 situation. What people don't realize is as you are dropping and firing, your bullets are dragging down your opponent's body at close range, allowing you to do maximum damage with your weapon, while hitting them in various parts of the body. If you can do it as fast as I can, which is near instantly, they will never have a chance to react. I say practice it. It's pointless using it without the tactical layout though, but then again, I hate having the knife button set to Circle.
