There are a few people out there have had some problems with the prestige hack. I understand how frustrating getting something like this right can be. These are the steps I take when hooking my friends up with their prestige.. If you PM me I most likely will not do it for you, but I will answer any questions you have regarding the process.. Remember, it is better to learn to do it yourself than to have others do it for you.

Props to the original discoverer(s) of the Prestige hack, and all the continued support from people in this forum who help people with it daily ^

Follow these steps carefully, and I am 100% certain you will get to whatever prestige you want
(You will only receive the emblems/titles associated with the prestige level you go to (and those prior to it -so do not ask about that)
any recommendations will be confirmed and noted.

Step #1 (Gathering essentials)

Get files you need for the prestige you want. See the sticky at the top of the forum. You should have the following:
- Prestige File (copy to PS3 via usb)
- Error File (copy to PS3 via usb)
- A computer on the same network as your PS3
- PS3 Patchblocker (on the computer)

Step #2 ( Preventing corrupt data)
Launch MW2 as normal, then go online and choose "splitscreen". Once in splitscreen:
- Load the error file (you will get an error), continue with X and you should see it loaded on 1st player
- Next, press SQUARE and load the prestige file (no need for controller 2)
- Once you have the prestige file loaded, press X and enter the splitscreen game
- Suicide, and end the game
- Quit MW2

Step #3 (Bypassing the patch)
Now take your time and do the following:
- Go to your saved data and delete the current MW2 patch.
- Go to your computer and open the PS3 patchblocker.
- Write down the IP address, but do not press start
- Go to your PS3 Network settings, and choose "Custom"
- Go right until you see "Proxy" server and click "use"
- Enter the IP address and port the patchblocker gave you.
- Go back to the computer and start the patch blocker.
- Finish the network setup on the PS3, if the IP/port was entered correctly you should be signed back into PSN (no need to "test connection").

Step #4 (prestige your account)
Now that you have the PS3 patch blocker running, you can bypass downloading the patch you deleted, so load up MW2 and do the following:
- Go to multiplayer and enter play online, make sure it goes through "Fetching Ranks and Unlocks"
- Go back and enter splitscreen mode
- Load the error file (like before you will get an error), continue with X, but this time hit X again to get to the splitscreen barracks.
-Prestige the error file (you will get another error), then back out to the splitscreen menu.
-Now hit SQUARE to load the prestige file (if it says corrupted data, quit MW2 and stop the patchblocker. Re-download the patch and carefully repeat Step #2)
- Once the prestige file is loaded, back out and hit play online
- quickly go to the barracks and prestige (not the splitscreen barracks, the play online barracks)
- Once you prestige you will be saved. ( if you get an error at this point quit MW2 and restart. You need to make sure you "Fetch ranks and unlocks")

Step #5 (ensuring happiness)
If you followed steps 1-4 correctly, you will be at the prestige # you chose. Now simply:
-reset your network settings (do not use proxy server)
-load up MW2 and download the patch
-go rank it up!
In the event that you feel something went wrong please note the following:
- When running MW2 without the patch, you will be randomly disconnected (I believe its roughly half a minute to a minute online.. maybe its just my connection, but I think others have noted that PSN logs you off when your running the PS3 patchblocker.
- If you do get signed out just keep repeating step #4 till you can do it in one go before it boots you off.
- An error 10 when you prestige means you did not fetch ranks and unlocks on the unpatched MW2
- A corrupted prestige file (not the error, the actual prestige) means you did not load it up in the patched game prior to loading it when bypassing the patch. Remember to load it while patched, suicide and quit.
- This is for US PS3 MW2… for UK and others please search the forums…

That is where you wrong and Ridiculous is right. I was viewing your negative comments in his thread, and also noticed you said this in his thread.

You do NOT have to keep trying to get it done in under a minute... simply log back in. I hope he comes in here and bashes on your thread as you did to him

no im not going to bash him, because im not a loser.
But my video tutorial is up and you can see my method did work for me and everyone else who used it, reason's it failed for so many people were probably just because of their internet connection settings ect. firewall blocking it blah blah
