hey everyone,
I'm slowly building this thread into a sniper guide, so if there are any suggestions, post or comment. Anyhooo....
i found some cool tricks with snipers:
1) Steady before you aim. Really good for when you are stuck in a sniper fight which is going nowhere. Also helps for when you can only see glimpses of people.
2) Reloading. It immediately regains your breath. Don't ask my why, but it is VERY useful.
3) Changing directions in short-range. If someone pops up from behind at you, and you have no time to change to your secondary, try a no scope. Move towards/away/any direction, then after about 1 step, change direction and shoot as you do so.
4) Set your claymores up properly. Don't just put them out in the open, or like parallel with a doorway. What you want to do is place it further back from the doorway, at about 45 degrees. This way, no one will run on by.
5) Keep an eye on where your team mates are. If you are scoping, and you notice that all your team mates are on the other side of the map, its time to pull out your secondary.
6) Follow your target. i don't mean to run up behind them, i mean with your cross hairs. If you follow them at the same speed as they are running, it is about 10000% easier to get a penetration kill.
7) Aim high. There was a previous post on here about snipers being body-part dependent on their damage. Always try to go for the head or chest. FMJ helps.
8 ) Sensitivity. Find the sensitivity which is comfortable for you. I always keep mine on 7 (very high). This is good because it doesn't take too long to get use to & it helps you spin around quickly and see a whole lot more than medium sensitivity.

OTHER ADDED TIPS
CamelToaster:
Double-tapping Y or Triangle in close-quarters. This too is useful short range. Basically, switch weapons quickly and fire a shot off.
Rossophet:
Reloading as you shoot in close-quarters. I haven't tested this one out myself, but will soon enough. Sounds like it does work.

CLASSES
These are the classes that i use for sniping, but if you don't like them, or would like to suggest something, comment away. Class I is for general long-distance sniping, hence the smoke grenade to help you get some cover. Class II is for close range sniping - a map like terminal goes well. The Barret is the best semi-auto around, and with marathon or sleight of hand, it goes heaps good.
CLASS I:
Equipment:
Intervention (FMJ / Normal)
Striker (FMJ / Normal)
Claymore
Smoke grenade
Perks:
Scavenger
Stopping Power
Steady Aim
Painkiller (or whatever else you want)
CLASS II:
Barret 50 Cal. (FMJ / Normal)
Spaz 12 (FMJ / Normal)
Claymore
Stun / Flash
Perks:
Slight of Hand / Marathon
Stopping Power
Steady Aim / Ninja
Painkiller (or whatever else you want)

If you have any other tips, classes or anything at all, please PM me. I will update this thread with good tips + add your name next to the tip (don't thank me for the "OTHER ADDED TIPS" -- thank the user with that name.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MODS - i know this thread is old, but it is better me updating this old thread with new tips / hints / glitches, rather than creating a new thread. I will eventually build this thread into a complete sniping guide with the best classes and tips for sniping.
