You need Lowfirmware for the "JTAG" and you need some type of OS that will allow you to hop online

Already been tried. It has been known that the BD drive has a J-Tag, but it is not exploitable like the 360 (from what I've read).

Good luck though, but I seriously doubt anything will come of it.

In short, the JTag port on the PS3 Blu-ray drive board was located and mapped out (the pin-outs were actually taken directly from a print screen of the $CE docs ) but these days they are almost always blown at production. There was no "exploit" ever mentioned.

To answer though, the resident Devs did test these exact points (and others) nearly a year ago and got nowhere as they were indeed blown.

No matter what you think you may have access to by doing that you are still completely of.

The ps3 operates on hardware levels of security.

I highly suggest you read some of Geohot's information on what he has been able to document/research on the ps3 platform.

I am not saying it will never be accomplished but the ps3 was built to withstand the known shortcomings of the xbox 360.
