So i was on ground war using OMA to choose my classes (great method) and when i switched to my sniper class they called an AC-130 in i wanted to die so i can switch to my anti class. I went with other people and started to hit between the head and wings of the plane, and after a couple shots fro my Intervention it DID shoot out flares. After i died it only took 1 stinger to take it out. So maybe this is the weak spot of the AC-130.

Well, for now on my anti class is gonna be Intervention and Stinger ;]

no it doesnt. i tried with all snipers. and im sure no one was shooting stingers at it because the whole team was my party and i told em not to

nothing happens to the ac when you shoot at it with any gun. only stingers and javalin. it takes 2 stingers fired at the same time to bring the ac out of the sky.

i usually have to shoot 3 stingers to take it down. :confused:

you could also destroy the ac130 with at-4s, but first you have to get rid of the 2 flares on it

Yeah snipers dont do anything.

the flares on the ac130 are infinate. but they come out in bursts of about 2 seconds apart as long as rockets are being shot at it. thats why its best to get you and your friend to shoot a stinger/at at the same time or 1 after another to take it out.

a tiny bit off topic now... i was using an ac130 and just before my time was up for using it someone shot a stinger at me after he got the lock on i was ejected from being able to use it. the flares kept going off the whole time untill it was off the map. kinda neat actually.
but that is how i know the flares on the ac130 are infinate. not to mention the fact that i had a whole team shooting rockets at it just for flares to pop out of it. no one shot at the same time either >=/

No, it has 2 flares. That's why 3 rockets can take it out.

that happens anyway. try a two player, call in an AC130 and wait till the end and once your on the ground it will fire out flares till it leaves anyway.
i'd say it was just the animation for it to make it seem that bit cooler cos once the 30 secs are up you cant even aim and lock on to it.
