(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); 1: Do they work for non-American consoles?
2: How do they work?
3: How much do they cost and where can I buy a cheap one?
4: Does my computer need to be close to my PS3 or can I have them apart? (Like same room but my PC is on one side and the PS3 is on the other side?)

Tank you in advance, best answers get Rep

1. Yes
2. They split the signal from your ps3 and put it on your laptop/computer (you need splitters and extra cables)
3. Depends what you want, from £40 to £150 (amazon/ebay/play.com)
4. Depends on your length of wires

Very good answers, but I'm going to expand on No2 & 4.

Before I start, let me implore you not to buy a cheap Cap Card and to save up for a good one(namely an HD PVR). Everyone I know who's ever gotten a Dazzle or an ezCap, has thought it was cool at the time and all that but was disappointed once they got it. So please remember, you get what you pay for. Anyway, moving on.

2. Dazzle/ezCap: SD quality, AV cables, splitters and a whole lot of frustration.
HD PVR: 720p HD Quality, Component cables and that's it. Worth noting here that you only need a TV w/ component input, and the PS3 component cables. Everything else comes w/ the HD PVR.
Also, both cap cards come w/ their own respective capturing programs, so no need to go searching around. In case you were wondering, Dazzle comes w/ Pinnacle Studio & HD PVR comes w/ Arcsoft Total Media Extreme.

4. Dazzle/ezCap: Depends on length of cables.
HD PVR: I'd say it will cover the length of a single bedroom cable-wise.

Hope I helped! Happy

I got my Dazzle DVC100 for $50 plus 50 bucks for cables and I love it. I don't see why people are disappointed.

I want a cheap Cap Card because:
A) I don't have a HD TV so I don't think I should get a HD Cap Card, and
B) I just don't have the money for it right now

Is there anywhere I can find to help me set up a Cap Card, and can I get extensions for the cables if I buy a Dazzle, because my PC is on the other side of the room?

Firstly, you paid twice as much for that as you should have lol...
Secondly, they don't always work for people, so you are lucky.
Finally, they are abysmal quality. Simples.

So now comes the question, what one should I get? Can't get HD PVR, too expensive and I don't have a HD TV. From what I've seen, Dazzle has alright quality

Anything that isn't a Dazzle or an ezCap. And if they are your only options, go for ezCap. Dazzle FTL!
