(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); hello folks this is my firat post so please be gentle.

got my son a ps3 at xmas and also got him mw2 i was son impressed with the game that in january i flogged my psp an a few other bits an went an purchased myself a ps3 and a 2nd hand mw2 Smile
Now i watch my son play and hi is quite skilled running about shooting, and doing things strategicaly aswell, when we play against each other i get mullered and begin to curse under my breath lol.

playing multiplayer online i just can't seem to get the shots off as fast as i'd like too. when i do get the chance i generally fail by spending to long trying to line up the sight and target. again my son just seems to press the button and he's on target straight away. is this level related or just poor (old age) reactions? my son is pestige lvl1 and am lvl 16 at the moment.

some games i can do really well but most of the time i am just cannon fodder :(

thanks for reading, any tips appreciated

The best way to get your aim better & on target straight away is too just play some private matches with some people and it will gradually improve. Once your confident with the aiming business switch your sensitivity upto 10 & you'll be good in no time. Playing the "Hardcore" game modes will increase your skill level aswell as theres alot better players there so its a challenge! Just don't play Hardcore Team Deathmatch! nobody moves from the spawn on that game they sit in the corner crying about getting killed.

u said it, hc deathmatch is piss, campers galore,hc search rules

One thing is old age, but the main problem is that everyone, and I mean everyone, is extremely bad when they get their first FPS game. The younger generation has grown up with video games their whole life basically, so they are more used to video games, and I assume that your son has had more experience with video games in general than you. Also, it's almost impossible to become amazing at a FPS, particularly a CoD game, in a short amount of time. Every time I try to play CoD with an older person or someone with no FPS experience, it's boring for me because they are so bad. Games like this just take time and patience to get good at.

Many players find that they aren't good at Call of Duty and decide to use the cheap strategies, such as camping, using grenade launchers, playing only for the objectives, and Using heartbeat sensors. They think that they're so bad that they'll never be good, and they need to resort to cheap tactics, and never learn to be good at the game. My suggestion is, rather than resorting to cheap and "nooby" tactics, TRY to be good, TRY to run around. It may be painfully annoying and frustrating at first, but keep at it and eventually you'll get it.

Also, make sure you pick the right game modes to start out. I reccomend not playing hardcore, and playing game modes such as Team Deathmatch and Domination. They seem to not have as many tryhards as other game modes

By the sounds of things you are sprinting all the time. I try to leave the sprint button alone unless I know my arse is dead if I don't run away. I allows you to aim down sights quicker if you are walking and not sprinting, so it's much more effective to walk.

Good bit of advice that. Just take your time, more haste less speed and it'll come.

You could always threaten to take your son's PS 3 away if he beats you again. lol. Happy

Maggbot timeout!
you say you have problems aiming quickly and on target?

1 my lil bit of advice is make sure that the enemies are as close to the center of your TV screen as possible before you pull the aim button in rather than trying 2 drag the sight across the screen

2 try using slight of hand and get it 2 pro spec this helps you aim down sights faster

3 try changing your button lay out 2 tactical so you can drop shot ppl this also makes you a smaller more difficult target 2 hit (not stood there like a lemon)

4 dont just turn your sensitively straight up to 10 or u will end up running and looking around like stevie wonder ( all over the place ) i find that 7 is good for SMG or AR's 10 is for sniping

5 try completing the story mode on hardened or veteran to get your reaction times down and above all practice practice practice

and please say thanks if ive helped you Smile as i havent wrote this much since leaving school 10years ago

"3 try changing your button lay out 2 tactical so you can drop shot ppl this also makes you a smaller more difficult target 2 hit (not stood there like a lemon)"

Agreed with the layout but to someone who hasn't mastered perfect aim or high sensitivity yet this is worthless dropshotting is the last thing you wanna be a pro at & I honestly don't like dropshotting on MW2 the maps are too open its not like Cod4 where you was tightly packed into a small map so dropshotting was a must.

Good luck in getting better anyway! you'll have it sussed in no time.
