(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); hello folks this is my firat post so please be gentle.

got my son a ps3 at xmas and also got him mw2 i was son impressed with the game that in january i flogged my psp an a few other bits an went an purchased myself a ps3 and a 2nd hand mw2 Smile
Now i watch my son play and hi is quite skilled running about shooting, and doing things strategicaly aswell, when we play against each other i get mullered and begin to curse under my breath lol.

playing multiplayer online i just can't seem to get the shots off as fast as i'd like too. when i do get the chance i generally fail by spending to long trying to line up the sight and target. again my son just seems to press the button and he's on target straight away. is this level related or just poor (old age) reactions? my son is pestige lvl1 and am lvl 16 at the moment.

some games i can do really well but most of the time i am just cannon fodder :(

thanks for reading, any tips appreciated

Lol only joking :p But it will be the age difference. I don't know how old your son is, or even if he is not actually your real son because you kidnapped him, but everyone knows that people are at the peak of their mental ability between the ages of about 16-23. This obviously includes reactions, and will therefore explain why your son makes you want to kill yourself when you play him at games Happy He has also probably had quite a lot more practice at games like this than you, if he hasn't had a FPS game before, he will still have played them at friends houses quite a bit.
Everyone sucks when they start playing modern FPS games like MW2, just don't go getting kicked in the head by a horse and you will definately improve.

just play more. you need to play atleast to lvl 70 to really know all there is to know in this game. most people have been playing for many days and weeks by now, so its not easy being new to this game i would imagin:p. i think your son will always be better than you im affraid since he is young and have better reflexes and stuff like that

hes 14 and i am 49. i think having steel workers hands does not help too much either. oh also he is my real son Smile i think he takes great pleasure in kickin my ar$e with this game.
what i find though is the lack of team work online no matter what type of scenario you pick everyone is running round like the bloody road runner with an ak47

It's either that or everyone camps which takes no skill. Get more into gaming and clans, and you'll know what I'm on about.

It's most likely age. Interpreting(who's who) the bad the bad guys when you see them and having the reflexes to shoot quick are a must have for this game.

The best way to get your aim better & on target straight away is too just play some private matches with some people and it will gradually improve. Once your confident with the aiming business switch your sensitivity upto 10 & you'll be good in no time. Playing the "Hardcore" game modes will increase your skill level aswell as theres alot better players there so its a challenge! Just don't play Hardcore Team Deathmatch! nobody moves from the spawn on that game they sit in the corner crying about getting killed.

1. Learn the maps

The best way to beat people is just to know the maps backwards and forwards. Take some time to go in a private match and just run around and learn every possible thing about them.

Also take the route less traveled. Most people get killed because they are doing the predictable thing. I usually start off most games with at least a 5 killstreak just because most people run the same way everytime and I already know where they are going to be. Take a random route and your behind the whole team

2. Learn to aim Happy
Just like above, go into a private match and just take time aiming and shooting at random things. Trashcans, certain spot on the wall, whatever. I know it sounds stupid but it really helps you get a feel for how the guns work and you wont have someone shooting back at you so you can get the hang of everything. You will eventually train yourself to quickly be able to aim at your target. Master 1 gun first tho, then move on to others if you feel comfortable

switch ur sensativity up to 9 or 10.. the game takes no skill really all u need to know is the "high traffic" areas and if ur in the right place when 1 of these places are getting used youl ALWAYS win, for example u run to their spawn useing a low traffic area maybe 1 person, u kill him no problem with ur silenced weapon the other team has no idea ur at their spawn run around the back of them and pretty much every time u do this at the start u get a 5 6 or even 8 kill streak

that is obviously for a little higher level after u got ninja and cold blooded

NEVER use any perk except cold blooded.. especialy if ur not with a clan or friends (except search and destroy u should always use ninja/ pro)

i usualy run about till im on 8 or 9 kills then go slowly always following a team mate to see where hes getting shot from its extremely useful useing "dirty" tatics like this, 7 out of every 9 or 10 games ends up in a nuke of my favour useing tatics like this usualy in under 3 minutes

do game types like sabotage where the spawns are fixed (dont move) or dominaton with a group of friends so u can spawn trap them (use claymores c4 on a spawn of theirs they wont spawn back there for a long time)

90% of the time u will lose face to face if uve had a good kill streak.. i like to call this mw2 bullshit factor, example u shoot him with ur ump 20+ bullets hit he kills u in 3 same gun same perks ect even if ur host

if u still find it hard to run about, camp a little i dont mean stay there for the whole game, stay for 3 or 4 killsmove position because they WILL be coming after you, even if its just moveing to a different corner or room

MOST important of all.. learn the maps and high traffic areas

forgot to add learn most glitches because they come in handy sometimes and if people use em against u.. u know how to do it aka elevator so u can get revenge ect

I'm not convinced that age is the factor. I play with a guy is in his 40's and he's good. As LongJohnSilver said... learn the maps and play the game a little more. you'll find that you will be improving. Also try and play an objective game... the spawns are more controlled. That is the enemy spawns in the same area rather than all over the map as in Teamdeath Match.

Good luck and just keep at it. Happy
