If you look you can see the cross is reflective.. Well if you look closely you can see the image that is being reflected.. I think it seems to be some sort of land with some tree's. You can tell its a image being reflected because you can see clouds. ( Could be desert Environment )

I think it's nothing.
Making it look the way it is just gives it personality.

Or maybe they gave it an embossed effect and it's "reflecting" light.
