Modern Warfare 2 has made its stake as a gaming giant, but DICE's Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is no slouch, either, competing well in recent times. There are no PS3 figures, but we know it's doing good on Xbox 360 and even better on PC.
Research group DFC Intelligence and monitoring outlet GamerDNA have teamed together and come up with some interesting numbers pertaining to both titles' Xbox LIVE communities. What's obvious is MW2's community has been declining steadily since at least January (two months after launch); what's not so obvious is many of those players have been making their way to DICE's side. We can observe Mass Effect 2 also seems to have put a dent in the audience.

IndustryGamers' digging shows us from launch until present, approximately 21% of Modern Warfare 2 players also play Bad Company 2, and a surprising 81% of Bad Company 2 players are in on Modern Warfare 2.
It'll be interesting to see where each title goes from here. At this stage, they both could go either way, though we'd bet on MW declining and BC rising, particularly with the former's $15 maps, and the latter's free maps. Just sayin'.
