Machinima

(derived from machine and cinema) is filmmaking created through the real-time recording of computer games, virtual worlds or any already-existing 3D digital environment or virtual world. Creators of machinima produce animated works using the characters and environment of the game or virtual world in abstract or narrative filmmaking techniques.


---Objective

The objective of this team will be to bring members to this website through filming short comedies in the form of a machinima (see above). The videos we make will be uploaded to a variety of channels in an attempt to gather more views and in the end more people that like the videos and will subscribe to both the youtube channels we post them on and register and contribute to this website.

---Description of films

We will have episodes ranging from 00:05 to a maximum of 05:00 in length long (five seconds to five minutes). Depending on the video, the time range will differ. Each film will most likely contain a comedic effect to it. The amount of characters used in each film will vary each episode depending on its genre, length, and description. Each character in the short film will be listed in the credits.


---Types of people we are recruiting and descriptions of what we expect:

Recorders: Having one recorder already present in the team we will only be recruiting two more for multiple point-of-views and angles of the scenes.

--Requirements:
-Capture Card: Must be able to record in 720p or 1080p high definition. An example of a capture card with this capability is the Hauppauge HDPVR.
-Microphone: Any quality.

Actors:

--Requirements:
-Microphone: Superb quality.
-Voice: Deep/Mature. (Lenient on this)
-Attitude: Mature, follows orders.
-Age: 14+

Editors

--Requirements:
-Editing Program: Professional e.g. Adobe After Effects/Sony Vegas Pro
-How long a time editing with professional editing program: 2 Months+.
-Computer: Large hard drive.

Film/Script Writers

--Requirements:
-Age: 16+ (Lenient)
-Writing skill and comedic level: Above average.
-Amount of Information Needed: Basic plot and basic script. The directors will read through each script/episode sent and pick the best one. The writer will be awarded with 1 million vBux, reputation, and a place in the credits. Possible annotation to their youtube channel if they have one.

-Amount of Available Positions: Unlimited

I could alternatively edit in the summer. I have final cut pro, the widely used Professional film industry editor. This is the reason the entire film industry is on macintosh. My dad is a director and my brother a film buff so i'd be able to top class edit. I've edited a couple short non pro films on iMovie but will be willing to edit properly in the summer. I can adapt to programs as with about 1 hr experience with photoshop I created the sig below
