They fixed it so that you can only join your friends session in progress after they are already in a lobby or in the game.

i was able to do it the other day wasnt hard at all....once you click FFA have your friend in your party and click invite party to game and there you go thats how i do it works perfectly fine

or you could always both click "cage match" at the same time and hope for the best.

i was getting worried, thought it was PS3 you were talking about

there are two easy solutions to this.

1. right when your friend searches, have him invite you and keep doing that until you can get in. Sometimes it says you can't join the invite but once his lobby is done loading, you can get the invite.

2. If he gets in a game with someone, just hope that they back out and then you are able to join, but if they don't back out. Just go hide in a random corner and after like 2 mins. They will back out and you can then join the session in progress
