I use a bridged connection running a direct cable from my laptop which gets its wireless from my desktop

I played fine on it, up until about a week ago

This happens to me aswell on the PS3. Im on BT 10 Meg broadband always a full connection or there abouts and still lags.
Maybe something to do with the servers?

Thats the only thing i can think of, i can play cod4 perfectly fine no lag at all

It most likely has something to with the most recent patch. They said they fixed matchmaking. Most likely they just screwed it up like they do everything else.

You may not even be host.
Yesterday, everybody in my game had a 4-bar connection.

I know im not hosting i check at the start of each game its weird

Probably it takes longer to find matches now

It happens to me and i know why
Basically you had lag and its lagged so much that its lagged the connection bar thing!
If it says you have 4 bars connection and your lagging it basically means you have more lag than 1 bar connection.

If it happens all of the time try and reset all of your internet settings and run a connection test in network settings!
If it doesn't work from there i would try tweeking the settings on your router and ring the helpline Hope i helped
