Hey man, good to see that there are other beginners with montages and recording to. Got some tips for you to make it look awesome.
Try to synchronize the shots with the music beat(like the kick). And some color correction effects would look nice. Try to download Sony vegas pro 8 or 9 it's really helpfull.
