Activision CEO Bobby Kotick addresses exodus at the studio.

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick stated on the company's financial call earlier today that 35 employees have left Infinity Ward since founders Jason West and Vince Zampella were fired last March. Kotick said he expects even more employees to eventually leave.

"Since we terminated the two executives at Infinity Ward, approximately 35 others have resigned, and it is likely a few more people will leave as well," he said. "Many of these people have been recruited by other studios because of how talented they are."

"We are obviously disappointed about this, and we wish we could have convinced some of these talented people to stay," Kotick added.

As many as 15 of those employees have reportedly joined Respawn Entertainment, West and Zampella's new development studio, which will publish a new title under rival Electronic Arts. Kotick later added that in the end, there was no way the company could have continued to employ West and Zampella after learning of their alleged activity outlined in Activision's countersuit filed last month.

"The decision to terminate the two Infinity Ward executives was not done lightly, and it was not done to deprive them of their bonuses nor is it done without a great deal of deliberation about the consequences."

"I personally consider the two of them friends, and their conduct was a compromise of our friendship, which was equally disappointing," he added. "Once we began to understand what had occurred, there was no grey area. There was nothing to allow us to retain their services as talented as they might have been."

Kotick said Activision has already begun strengthening Infinity Ward by hiring new talented and pumping additional financial resources into the studio.

Wow and to begin with IW only had like 100 employees, with almost half gone thats half the work force. Not good for them. I am slightly interested to see how Respawn Entertainment does though.

That's not right 402 already said it was currently obtainable, but won't tell us how.
