I defeated!
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Ok, so i bought a pair of px21's for my ps3 today. now when i got it all set up i started a FFA, and needless to say i rocked house, i went 30-2 i could hear peoples footsteps above me, and below me. also i could hear weapons across the map, even silent weapons, i could hear tons of stuff. But than i went into a TDM with a party, and all they seem to do is to make shit more loud....i mean yea, it sounds great and all, but its almost impossible to hear foot steps with all the damn tubes going off, and when i do hear footsteps and i check my mini map its always a team mate. So what im driving at here, is anyone with a turtle beach, or any gaming headset, does it take a little while to get used to the new sound scope before you learn and get better with them?

If I was a sound-whore like you I'd go for sitrep pro, enhances enemy footsteps.

Took me maybe a week or so to get used to my astros, for team based games, other than SnD, they don't really help as dumbasses don't use ninja, I've yet to try sitrep pro out in a team match though, but it owns for FFA Winky Winky

FFA and HC S&Awesome face are the best playlists to use a good headset.
In FFA you're on your own so anything you hear or see moving you kill, easy.
In S&Awesome face you are more alert and will constantly keep your ears up to hear the enemy.

All the other playlists (especially ground war!)you'll just hear sounds EVERYWHERE and you're headset will not be of much use compared to your TV speakers.

Hey dude i know what you mean when i first bought my turtle beach x1 (xbox 360) i was confused like you are i kept thinking that my teams footsteps were my enemies but eventully you will get used to it. I suggest maybe trying to play free for all's at first to get used to the direction the footsteps are coming from. Then move on to other game modes and as you progress through the game you will get used to it. If you are still having trouble with this then you should unlock sit rep pro this will enhance the enemies footsteps meaning you can tell which are your teams and which are theres

I hope i helped SmileSmileSmileSmileSmileSmile

The thing with gaming headsets isn't so much that they make enemy footsteps louder; any pair of regular headphones will do that. The main thing is that it gives you surround sound. Yes, things may seem louder, covering up the sounds of footsteps, but the fact that you can actually hear what direction someone's coming from makes up for that. One thing that really annoys me is when I'm sound-whoring in SnD, and the music comes on when there's one minute left. It completely ruins my sound-whoring abilities and sometimes gets me killed.

I play a lot of HC HQ and have been using PX21 for a month.
I wish there was a 3rd slot perk that silenced freindly footsteps and marked all friendly positions when you have the briefcase open. I'm tired of getting killed because I can't see team mates with cold blooded on.
Sitrep pro is so loud you think you are completly surrounded or have to cross half the map chasing footsteps.
I can't justify spending 200 on surround sound headphones but mine do offer directional help, especially front or behind.
I just hate moving towards the action and hearing someone behind you. You turn to look and see a friendly and get shot in the back.
