Sorry if this has been posted before, but I thought this was very interesting, as I was researching if Stealth Bomber do carry on bombing the entire length of the map, regardless of size.

Yeah the Stealth Bomber's range is awesome but people hear it before it comes :( I like how you can control the path of the Precision Airstrike and the Stealth Bomber.

The large spread of bombs can cover the whole area of Rust
Note that the circle of the directional indicator is where the bombing will commence. It is recommended to place the circle on the outskirts of the map, so that maximum effectiveness can be achieved.

I tought that the bombing started while the bomber entered inside the map :S nice effort again i like those statistics.

holy batman, yes i know this is an old thread but i came across this and found the info to be interesting and helpful (unlike other pointless "guides" of common knowledge). Instead or reposting this i decided to just bump it instead (hope thats alright).

Some interesting facts from op's source:

-If you are inside the box but close to the edge of it you will take less than 100 damage from the strike, but if the second bombing run hits you you will die for sure.

- Each bombing run from the harrier strike hits roughly the same amount of area as a bombing run from the precision airstrike, but there are only 2 runs instead of 3, and the second barely hits a different area than the first. And of course you can't control the direction. (There are 3 harriers that come, but the third just shoots)

- The precision airstrike hits pretty high up compared to the position of the circle by the time the last bombs have hit.

- Bombs can get caught up on just about anything solid in between the plane and the ground, remember they exit the plane well before it gets to the actual target and travel both downwards and forwards.

- The stealth bomber just does one massive strike instead of several little ones. I may have exaggerated the height a bit (it was bigger than I expected so I didn't have the best angle to observe it from) but it's definitely considerably wider than the precision airstrike.

- The blast shield and riot shield don't seem to do jack to protect against airstrike damage.

- (unrelated) A blast shield will not save you from a *direct* hit by an AT-4 to the chest.
