Okay, this is my first guide. It's aimed at the new or less experienced players of Modern Warfare 2.
Roloing's Beginner Guide
First off
weapons. They are the heart and soul of a soldier, and without them, there wouldn't be a game. But before I begin, weapons are a matter of personal opinion. Use weapons you like and feel comfortable using; not ones people say are 'amazing' and 'uber'. By using weapons you are more comfortable with will ensure more kills, easier mastery and camo. Some honourable weapons to use at low levels include-
FAMAS - Unlocked at level 4
M4A1 - Unlocked by default
UMP .45 - Unlocked by default
RPD - Unlocked by default
Intervention - Unlocked by default
SPAS-12 - Unlocked by default
The FAMAS is a semi-automatic assault rifle. It fires three bullets in one click of the trigger. It has very high accuracy and fire rate.
The M4A1 is a medium-range assault rifle. It has high accuracy and fire rate, but lacks in damage. A great all-round weapon.
The UMP .45 is a beast. It is a submachine gun with very high damage and accuracy; with good fire rate. It has a great iron sight and many attachments to choose from.
The RPD is a light machine gun. It has good damage, range and an average fire rate. It has rather low accuracy, but Grip can clear that right up!
The Intervention has the best damage and accuracy for a sniper rifle. It has max range and mobility. The one flaw is it is a bolt action weapon; forcing you to cock it back after every shot.
The SPAS-12 is a very good shotgun. It is pump-action it boasts nice damage and max mobility. The range is okay and has quite good accuracy.
Secondly,
strategy. If you want to survive in Modern Warfare 2, you’ll need a good, solid strategy. There are four main types of strategy and these are camping, running and gunning, sniping and knifing. Now I’ll explain the main four strategies, named above.
First of all,
camping, the most hated of all strategies. Camping is when you stay in one place and fire at enemies. If you want to camp, I suggest using the Cold Blooded perk, so your enemies won’t see you on their HUD. They also won’t see your gamertag above your head, making you harder to spot once again. You should also use a silencer on your primary weapon, so your foes won’t hear you shooting. Another good perk is Scavenger. This gives you a lot extra ammo, so you won’t need to leave your position to collect extra ammo.
Next up is
running and gunning. It’s a good tactic for grabbing a few kills, but not for getting a high killstreak. You’ve probably guessed the tactic of running and gunning by the name of it. Run around the map and destroy the opposition. Simple. Good perks are marathon, for unlimited sprint and stopping power for higher bullet damage.
Sniping is simple enough. Take a sniper rifle and pick off your foes from afar. This strategy is great for big maps and for destroying your enemies instantly. Sleight of Hand is a good perk, as you can reload quicker and look through your scope quicker. Stopping Power is a brilliant perk, as this pretty much guarantees a one shot kill.
The last main strategy is
knifing. Simple enough, grab the commando perk and start chopping. The recommended perks are lightweight, for quicker running and marathon for unlimited sprint, these two perks let you run quickly and forever. Add in a pistol with a tactical knife, and you have the perfect knifing mix.
