Mostly because its ment to be a noob friendly weapon but its something that experienced players still use to earn easy kills. I would say its overpowered but in comparison to its real life counter part it comes no where close.

The actual aa 12 fires small explosive rounds similar to that of the grenade launcher but in rapid succession. To put it in lamens terms, the aa 12 can discentigrate a trash can in under 5 seconds.

IMO People Dont Hate It When They Use But When They Get Killed By Someone with it.

I personally don't like the AA-12. I don't like it because it's an automatic shotgun. If IW was smart they would have made it a Primary Weapon. It would wreck at small maps or maps with lots of close quarter combat. Also, it really doesn't take much skill to use so I don't like it. I prefer guns that require skill to use because they are more challenging and keeps me interested in the game.

They hate it because you can't beat it in CQC.

I love the AA-12, I mean if it pisses people off then use it ! Also if you miss Pump more bullets into your enemy , its Great
