Global thermonuclear war is a game type that hasn't been released.
Hackers on PC found it in the MW2 files and found out what it was.
In this game mode there is a Nuke (looks like a bombsite in S& etc.) in the middle of the map and you and your team need to capture it.
The capturing itself takes about 1 min. if i am correct.
If there are more people from your team around the nuke the capturing goes faster (just like domination flags)
The team that captures the nuke, launches it and wins the game.

It's a game mode hidden in the game that didn't get implemented, Xbox hackers make matches with them now.

And originally the GTNW title you get from calling off 2 nukes was actually winning 30 GTNW matches.

Its were you have a 2 teams both with bombs and each member of the team has to plant the bomb but, theres only 1 bomb site and the plant time is very high once someone plants the bomb a nuke goes of and thats how you win i think theres a 20 min time
