My KDR is a lot lower than it could be (it's only 1.19) but I like to mess around a lot when I play and constantly worrying about my KDR would get annoying. Yes, I know having a really high KDR looks cool but at the end of the day all that matters is whether you win or lose matches.

Someone's kill to death ratio should never be of utmost importance. That said, it shouldn't be something you completely ignore. When a game comes with leaderboards, as Modern Warfare 2 does, I think players should be knowledgeable of their statistics, and should try to increase those statistics. The issue I see is when people almost become obsessed with their statistics. They start boosting, hacking, and things like that for the sole purpose of bettering their statistics. It's one thing if you're doing it for good fun, but something completely different if you're doing it for the sole purpose of higher statistics.

I used to be into my kill to death ratio quite a bit, but stopped worrying about it so much. When I play, I try to get the best kill to death ratio I can, like anyone does, but if I have a bad game it's not the end of the world.

the question isn't so much does k/d matter to you, its more does your k/d matter to everyone else? and the answer is yes.

i have a high ratio, simply because trying to achieve the highest k/d is what i aim for like the above person said^ and because i just don't like to die in general.

to the majority of mw2 players K/D = Skill, if you play 99% kill dependent modes like i do then its a good reflection of how good you are at what you do, if you play more objective modes then win/loss is more of a skill indicator.

nope, people who care need to think about how sad they are, especially the ones that sign out and turn their console off during the match if theyre doing bad...really sad

Well to be honest I dont really care about my kdr anyway because my score rank for my level is low which is odd and the rest i dont really care.

honestly, i dont care about KDR, i prefer to camp be last man on search and destroy and drop a care package on my own head, or mess around with guns and have what i see as fun

KDR means nothing, no stats mean anything. If you care about numbers on an online game, you need to have a self evaluation.
