(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I know a lot of you out there are fed up with Modern Warfare 2.

Here I would like members to post their pros and cons with Infinity Ward's creation of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

I would then like people to address what they fell should be fixed or tweaked. Try to think of ways to balance the game out more, possible patches to come and stuff like that.

For example, many players were complaining about the Model 1887's range and damage, correct?
Now that the guns have been "patched" they have become giant air guns. The Spas 12 now takes over as it has 1 shot kills and quite a long range. I don't understand some people. Anyway, the Model 1887 is a 12 gauge shotgun, and a 12 gauge shotgun and a 12 gauge could blow you away from quite a distance.

Click the spoiler for info on the 1887 taken from wikipedia.
The Model 1887 was the first truly successful repeating shotgun. Its lever-action design was chosen at the behest of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company, best known at the time as manufacturers of lever-action firearms such as the Winchester model 1873. Designer John Browning suggested that a pump-action would be much more appropriate for a repeating shotgun, but Winchester was a lever-action company and felt that their new shotgun must also be a lever-action for reasons of brand recognition. To Winchester's credit, however, they later introduced Browning's pump-action shotgun design as the Model 1893 (an early production version of the model 1897), after the introduction of smokeless powder.
Shotgun shells at the time used black powder as a propellant, and so the M1887 shotgun was designed and chambered for black powder 12-gauge shotshells.

I'm not asking for you to try to make the game as realistic as possible because that would require quite a lot of fixing, just try some simple ideas and then try to build on it. Eventually a list could be made for everyone to decide if they like it or not. (Such as a possible patch suggestion)

Try to keep suggestions orderly.
Thank you,
Dead_Penguin.

well. i really regret reading this. if the gun was ment to be good then they would not have patched it this much and made then fail horribly. And the spas-12 probably gets just as far kills now as the models did unpatched, they havent done a thing about that. Just saying.

From what i am assuming, is that the spas was given such range to make up for it being a pump action, thus slower than all the other auto shotty's Same with the models, being lever action, i mean imagine akimbo spas, it would be just as bad as the models.

what i think really really needs patched, or just looked into a great deal is the MLC combo

It lets you span the entire map in very short time
lets you sprint past claymore which pretty much negates claymores
Not only can you lunge kill with commando but you can do it far more times than anyone not using MLC
And the biggest point, is there is no way in modern warfare, the name the game is based after, that a person with a knife would have an advantage over someone with a gun.

So yeah i think above all else, that needs to be fixed..... but it wont, which means i keep wasting time of my life to type this......i hate this game...

i agree in some aspects however they must make the guns balanced.

in real life most shotguns could kill you 10x the distance they can in mw2, in real life the AA-12 has explosive rounds and a huge range.

my point is with the 1887's and other guns that they cannot be like they are in real life.
The vector is another example if it was realistic it would have HIGH damage as well as a high fire rate and high accuracy, but in the interests of game balance you cannot have all 3 of those stats that high.

I'm probably the only 1 here that thinks this but my view on IW and mw2 is:

they have improved the game alot from cod4, the maps are more detailed, larger, more tactical, there are many more class options(still need more xD) and on the whole i just think its a better game.
people like COD4 because its simply a basic, arcade style FPS. But in 4 it has many of its own problems such as: Extremely overpowered grenades(W@W got grenade strength spot on) the grenades ruined the game alot for me especially fragx3, then you had the world and his wife using the MP5 and M16.

Many people claim that MW2 is more n00b-friendly and in some aspects it is, but good players absolutely destroy bad players on mw2, whilst cod4 was alot more forgiving(martrydom, juggernaut, much more health normally, frequent UAVs).

so i think mw2 is a big improvement, it does ahve a few massive flaws(one man army tubin and MLC) but other than that its a great more tactical game imo.

i agree with most of your points, but you stated how the MP5 and M16 were overused in cod4, well than it has its twin in mw2 with the Ump45 and the scar-h

balance in a game like this is a great idea, and i would love to see it. but every gun would have to have the same everything to be totally fair, which than would negate making multiple copies of the same stastics. so you would be running around with 1 gun in the entire game. So regardless there are going to be balancing issues, i just think that IW should have released a beta, than maybe some of these problems could have been resolved before launch.

yh good points there but i don't think you need guns to be identical, an SMG and assault rifle can be balanced and be totally different if the smg dominates close range and the assault rifle dominates medium range then its perfectly balanced.

the problem with doing this is most assault rifles these days are as effective as SMG's at close range as well so unless its made completely unrealistic it is hard to balance perfectly.

the reason i mentioned mp5 and m16 is because they were hands down the best guns< no one disputes that. whilst on mw2 although guns like the ump and scar are used as much there are plenty of other guns equally as good such as ACR,AK47,TAR,FAMAS,M16,P90 etc on cod4 no gun is anywhere near as good as the mp5 or m16, whilst on mw2 every gun kills so quick that its really just personal preference as to which you use. :y:

Well the Ump.45 statistically should be out classed at long range by assault rifles, but heres an example, the F2000, while personally i love the f2000 it is outshined at long range by a simple smg, a smg which btw you unlock immediately, whilst the F2000 isnt unlocked until lvl 60.

and since i never played cod4 i cant dispute the fact that they were the 2 best guns, nor can i agree with it, but as for the statement that mw2 guns kill quickly regardless of which one, isnt a statement on balanced weapons, it just shows that they lowered the health in mw2. Regardless of the statistics of the guns, they are proven false ingame. the ump.45 says close range, yet we all know it can dominate at all ranges, and once again ill use the F2000 as an example, it says fully automatic all purpose weapon, yet we all know long range is nearly impossible to achieve with the F2000, in the hands of anyone less than a very serious gamer.

since mw2 was built as many say a "Noobish" style, than it doesnt explain why certain weapons were made very user friendly, and others were made the complete opposite.

But the main point im making is that i whole heartedly believe that Infinity ward made a huge mistake in not releasing a Beta.

yh i agree 100%, its alot more balanced than cod4 because in 4 almost every gun was either mp5, m16 or M40a3 with the glitched acog.

another thing i don't get is why they even bother with the in game statistics, they are all wrong in some way or another for example:

the barret has the most damage yet its actually the same as the intervention.
or the intervention has the most accuracy, yet every gun is 100% accurate and the intervention actually has the most sway making it the least accurate sniper rifle.

or on the smg's the mp5k has les damage than the ump, its exactly the same.

or on assault rifles the Tar apparently according to the in game stats is more inaccurate than the F2000 or the mp5k lol
