It creates codes (in GSC language) that are used in MW2 patches (PS3 and xBox and probably PC). So in order to use it to any actual purpose, you must decrypt your ps3 hdd using PS3 HDD Studio or PS3 HDD Toolbox and find the script that can be edited and that you can add codes to. Once you have found this you can use "iHc Patch Maker" to easily make the codes to put into the script file. Once you have done that you re-encrypt your ps3 hdd and put it back into PS3 HDD.
Just wanted to clear it up for some people who thought it was possible to easily create whole MW2 Patches and just install on ps3.

So when you click the save button, the code is successfully written to the file and you just have to encrypt the HDD? or would you have to actually put in the code yourself

You open the patch with iHc add codes then save.

As long you definately choose the correct file to save the codes into, yes you can just click the save button. Then you just encrypt the hdd again

are you sure? the patches it produces via " download clean patch_mp.ff" is the exact same size as the ones i am 100% confident came off a PS3,
so surely you can use that function then edit it with the programme and save,
creating a brand new working patch without needing one to start with?

The clean patch_mp.ff may well be from a ps3 but there is still no way of getting that on to PS3 other than decrypting the HDD. That .ff file isnt the actual patch though. Just a part of the patch containing dvar codes. The actual patch as a whole is a PKG file and there is no way as of yet to create a working PKG file with modded codes. It is possible to download the PKG file directly on to a PC. If anyone wants to know how to do this and have a go at decrypting the PKG here is a link for instructions You must login or register to view this content.
BTW no one has succesfully been able to decrypt PKG patch without installing it on PS3 first and then decrypting the whole HDD. Hope this helps
