as mentioned cheat engine only works on un-encrypted flash games, and i heard some pc games, but it would be incredibly hard and i dont think possible to hack the packets from the ps3. hacking packets is too difficult in that you need the right ones as well as have the right inputs etc, so it maybe useless to even try.

so far we know it needs to be a private match where you are the host, and you need to alter the code so the information being sent to the other players is modified. now i presume its a COD only hack, as if it was packet injection for example, we could in theory do it to any game? That being said we'd need a way to alter or inject code while the game is running.

How about installing linux on a computer (vmware it?) and bride connection of ps3 to the pc, and via terminal inject codes via bridged connection?

What people arent realising is that i'm pretty sure theunk0wn can manually edit and change it as the game is working (watch one of his videos, the guy getting all challenges doesn't automatically get them, so he can manually assign the codes to each player?)making the patch and HDD theories useless. As far as i can see, the ps3 is pretty fullproof and you cant run code from the ps3 itself, so if its through pc its easier? not to mention its the only way you could possibly inject modified codes into it. Additionally everyone has just totally missed the pc, so i guess people should look at the bridged network aspect and see if we can get anywhere with that and forget the .pkg and HDD modifications.

It is injection, but not packet injection, thats useless for the ps3, even UNknown said that.
If it were editing packets then why would he need two PS3's?
I still think its something to do with the old backup exploit

You're Goddamn Right
* I know that TheUnkn0wn can edit/inject codes whilst playing in private match etc...

So he must have live access to the files or some kind of program to do it. We know TheUnkn0wn is good at making his own programs

that's true, and thats where one of our problems could be if it is. If he did create a program himself, he'd either need to release publically (doubtful) or someone with programming know-how to create it, but we'd need to find where and what we need to do. Could be based off his patchblocker he created?
