Ok so I record my xbox MW2 with my HD PVR. I used to record it on my PS3 but I got an xbox. (It records onto my laptop btw.) Ok so when I'm trying to get it onto vegas to edit, it just completely lags. I tried tutorials to fix this but they didn't work.

NOTE:
This is only when i use the xbox .MP4 file. The PS3 file doesn't lag at all. I think the PS3 file is like N2something...

Okay. What resolutions do your XBOX and PS3 output? Are the captured file sizes extremely different if they are the same length??

Ok record in Playstation format not xbox. Better quality/compression. Also while in vegas make sure to set the preview screen to preview-auto. Well play at about half quality but wont lag. Heres an ultimate tutorial,
