(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Some of the most common reasons are the .PKGs are signed, the decryption doesn't work etc.

Well the most overlooked reason is that each game disc has a encryption key thats stored on the games disc, its located in the ROM Mark or the BD-ROM Mark for the PS3. If you can hack the hypervisor level two you should be able to access it. From what I have read and heard the drive firmware reads and sends the key to the hypervisor to decrypt it when loading the game.

Just research about game disc encryption. I am not taken credit for who originally discovered this nor am I posting a link. People need to research here and there.

Edit: Its been said that .PKGs are signed by Ihatecompvir. But no one has been talking about accessing the hypervisors on all levels. Don't post saying this is a hoax, someone else has said it on here etc, I have looked. This is step in the direction of running unsigned code, custom firmware and everything else. The source where I got this from wasn't written by GeoHotz so don't worry.

You are so off there. Please go back and research.

A dump of hypervisor is NOT nor anywhere near the equivalent of a Jtag.

It in no way alows you to run copied games.

As matter of fact dumping the hypervisor, actually has done nothing.

Meaning no one has found 'any' use for it.
Please don't spread false information.

I was just saying that as an example of how people accessed the hypervisor. The hypervisor decrypts the encryption key on the game disc after the drive firmware sends it to it and when the game is loading.

I see... My bad then, It is just the way you worded it. Will give alot of the new people the wrong impression.

I have a serious question though. Did GeoHot say that? Basically is it a "proven fact" that hypervisor sends the key? Like did sony say it or GeoHot...cause if GeoHot did, I wouldn't fully believe it.

Hunter was right with one statement. If I did read your post right. I think you said it was him that said it. Geohot was on ego trip, and an attention junkie..

Though.... Guy has wayyy more programming skills than I do.

Hunter said everything is true from some group called DemonHades. They are a spanish speaking group though. But I didn't find this from anything related to GeoHotz. If I did I would have laughed at it and said, "Oh F off" lol. But trust me George was on an ego trip so I doubt he would have made it this far.

I know GeoHot didn't do half of what he said. Most has proved to been fake.

But what my question was, who said, that the hypervisor sends the key? Was it from a sony scematic?

Here let me rephrase

When a disc loads the drive FW reads the key thats on the BD-ROM section of the disc and sends it to the hypervisor to decrypt it and allows you to play, thus preventing unsigned code etc. This is not the only step to allow pirated games, this is just the surface. There is so much more that I still need to work on. Thats all I have discovered and read about.

I couldn't find it even when I searched for it. But he is friends with Hunter so I doubt he would release etc. But this is "surface" material. And there is more to running pirated games and installing ISOs.

I understand that. I'm asking where did you read it. I'm trying to figure out if it is real or fake. The source would be nice...That is what I'm asking, did you read it from a Sony Schematic? Or what?

There is no way to run unsigned codes etc. I'm just scratching at a scab, or the surface. We need to research and learn about Sony's system. We no nothing compared to TheUnkn0wn.
