Well the most overlooked reason is that each game disc has a encryption key thats stored on the games disc, its located in the ROM Mark or the BD-ROM Mark for the PS3. If you can hack the hypervisor level two you should be able to access it. From what I have read and heard the drive firmware reads and sends the key to the hypervisor to decrypt it when loading the game.

Just research about game disc encryption. I am not taken credit for who originally discovered this nor am I posting a link. People need to research here and there.

Edit: Its been said that .PKGs are signed by Ihatecompvir. But no one has been talking about accessing the hypervisors on all levels. Don't post saying this is a hoax, someone else has said it on here etc, I have looked. This is step in the direction of running unsigned code, custom firmware and everything else. The source where I got this from wasn't written by GeoHotz so don't worry.

Hunter is NOT a god to do that. I mean it's more simple than that.

Have you ever realized that Hunter and TheUnkn0wn like to say things that won't work nor are true. You have to decrypt your HDD...Failed. With a full hack of the hypervisor you can run pirated games etc, thus the equivalent of a Jtagged 360.

No one was rewritten the Kernel. While I don't doubt Unkn0wn may be able to. I know Hunter can't. Not a slam against him, I just know his coding skills

Honestly. These hacks cant be that hard. Agreed with shiver that hunter doesn't have the Bill Gates coding skills. There's a much simpler way to do this its just getting overlooked because of the simplicity.

I know... I was reading through my notebook and was thinking about this. Demonhades has proof of doing this, Hunter even said it himself. GeoHotz was just a "rep whore". Well anyways if you can dump the Hypervisor lvl two you can do this. And there are level two dumps out there by DemonHades.

Yea, I think TheUnkn0wn did everything for Hunter. Even like other people said, the guy is a coding genius. I think I might be able to pull this off if I work day in and day out even at school next week. Most people are script kiddies, and thats why we are at a stand still.
